Meet Steve Cauthen
Home Inspector #3669 General Contractor #75223
I’ve been in the Greensboro real estate business for 20+ years as a landlord, remodeler, home flipper and home owner. Tearing apart homes and putting them back together is one of my passions. I turned my interest in homes into a career, combining general contractor and home inspector licenses into a base of knowledge that I can put to work for you.
Home inspection requires practical and book knowledge, keys to understanding all the many ways a home can have defects. I also participate in at least 20 hours of continuing education every year as required by ASHI, the premier home inspection origanization in the US.
If you’re considering the purchase of an older home, every home that I have owned has been at least 60 years old. Older homes can be vastly different from new homes and carry with them problems that can be easily overlooked. I would be happy to inspect your older home.
Greensboro is my home base for inspections but I’ll travel to surrounding communities including Burlington, Reidsville, Eden, Kernersville, Winston Salem, High Point, Asheboro and many others.
Also, if you’d like to talk aviation, I’ve been a professional pilot for the past 25+ years. In addition to various piston powered planes and turbo props, I’m type rated in the Citation XLS+ and Citation Latitude which has coast to coast capabilities. Flying takes me all over the US, Canada and Caribbean.
What does aviation bring to a home inspection? Attention to detail and a disciplined approach to your home inspection, qualities needed of any good inspector.
